What do movers pack in a truck first?

By understanding how and what order a moving company will pack your items into their truck and having your property prepared and organised correctly can save you time and more importantly cost over the course of your move.

A removalist will almost always use a pantech truck to move your belongings, which is a truck shaped like a box.

The movers will play a game of tetris, stacking your furniture in the safest possible way.

Movers will typically pack their trucks in this order.

First Layers Of Truck:

Boxes/Containers starting with heavy/solid/big boxes and containers followed by smaller boxes
Base Furniture – Desks, tv units, solid furniture

Next Layers Of Truck:

Mattresses
Bed frames
Lounges

Last Layers Of Truck:

White Goods – Fridge, washing machine, dryers
Fragile Items – Glass, tvs, pictures
Miscellaneous Items – Garden pots, items hard to stack

Throughout the packing of the layers in the truck, there are always caps which can be filled with light items such as pillows, quilt covers, bags of clothing, flat items etc.

When organising your property for your move, have it in a way that the team can clearly see all items and are able to pick up and carry them without having to move lots of other items out of the way first.

Having a free spot, often in the middle of a room can also help your mover in wrapping your furniture in shrink wrap or protective blankets easier.
