Types of protective materials

Every piece of furniture needs to be wrapped and protected differently.
In an ideal world, you would wrap basically everything in both shrink wrap and a moving blanket, however especially when using a moving company, time can be of the essence.
In order to protect your belongings as best as possible, we recommend using the following materials:

Bubble Wrap

Bubble wrap Is great for wrapping vases, pots, larger glasses, statues

Kraft Wrap

Kraft wrap is bubble wrap with a layer of cardboard. They are not as flexible as bubble wrap but provides a greater deal of protection and is great for wrapping picture frames, artwork and mirrors

Butchers/Packing Paper

Butchers paper or also known as packing paper is ideal for wrapping the majority of items in the kitchen and bathroom. Best practice is 1 sheet of paper per item with

Newspaper can also work well with packing providing there is no water on paper to allow ink to seep through.

Shrink Wrap

Shrink wrap is great for wrapping furniture such as cupboards, tables, mattresses and lounges.

Moving Blankets

Moving blankets are ideal as either a 2nd layer of protection for furniture that has been shrink wrapped or on its own. It is also great for wrapping fridges, mirrors, artwork and frames

Furniture Ties

Furniture ties are used to secure furniture and belongings inside of a moving vehicle. Using one of the strongest knots that is also the most simple to untie, a ‘truckers knot’ is used to tie the item to the truck rail which id attached to the truck wall

Storage Bags

Storage bags are like large zip lock bags, quick and easy to install on furniture. They come in a range of sizes but are typically designed and made for lounges and mattresses. These help protect from any dirt or debris that your furniture could come into contact with.
